(Former Yugoslavia, Quebec)
Their story is worthy of a Hollywood film: a chance meeting on Sainte-Catherine Street of two childhood friends separated by the war in Yugoslavia gave rise to the Quebec-Balkan group Les Gitans de Sarajevo. Their Gypsy music of uprooted people, both melancholic and festive, imparts a fresh and precise Balkan flavour while setting hearts dancing and passions shaking.
A journey through the musical heart of the Balkans, inspired by world rhythms, nomadic voices, vibrant percussions, lively brass instruments, and spirited accordion and gypsy violin. These are true Gypsies, halting their caravan at the Festival long enough for a breathtaking concert that will leave your feet tingling – a contagious energy that crosses the boundaries of your screen!SHARE THIS :
